conversation – an invisible connection

To listen, and not just hear with words or good body language, but with one’s heart and entire  being… is a skill I have a long way to to go learn! 🙂

But for me, a connection with my own self (through practice of daily silence) has definitely helped radically in connecting with others! A good conversation is usually animated and expressive, but at times even if it may look passive, is very active application of tremendous energy!

Like any art there is a great deal of learning and forgetting and unlearning and re-learning involved. Sometimes it unknowingly just ‘clicks’ into place. This was one such time, longest focussed conversation with my 2+ year old son (apart from two-way story telling) talking about some general things well over 10 minutes! 8)

Everyone in a conversation cares, and feels cared for.

Of course idea of this post is to highlight the value of conversation and that age is no bar. A good conversation is always waiting to happen with anyone, including strangers…

The film Taare Zameen Par shows that medium of conversation can be anything including art! The film Black (Amitabh Bachan, Rani Mukherjee), partly based on the true life story of Helen Keller, powerfully depicts that even lack of speech, hearing and seeing abilities are no bar!
